Cottage Ridge
A hillside residence where Mediterranean and contemporary wine country meet. Terra cotta tile roofs and stucco walls establish the regional vernacular; native stone veneer and steel-framed glazing bring it forward.
The entry court introduces the material dialogue—field stone against smooth stucco, a walnut pivot door set within a contemporary steel-and-glass surround. Inside, exposed wood beam ceilings with steel strapping span the living spaces. White oak floors run throughout.
The house opens to the land through walls of glass and a covered outdoor pavilion. Cedar tongue-and-groove ceilings extend from interior to exterior. A pool and outdoor kitchen orient to rolling oak-studded hills.
Details serve the whole: a glass-enclosed wine room, carefully placed path lighting, drought-tolerant plantings that follow the natural grade.
